Quarterly Newsletter
Bruin Family Connect is a digital parent and family newsletter that is published five times a year (including a special issue for new families over the summer). It is designed to inform families of growing university trends, college student development and their role as a parent of a college student.
Parent & Family Guide
The Parent & Family Guide provides a comprehensive overview of many important aspects about the University including an overview of academic requirements, housing and campus dining, financial matters and student and campus life.
Bruin Family Insights Podcast
Bruin Family Insights, the official PFA podcast, aims to equip families with knowledge to help you get to know UCLA better, and encourage your student to thrive during their time at UCLA and beyond. In each episode, we explore the ins-and-outs of UCLA through the eyes of those who know this journey best: staff, faculty, students, alumni and – of course – Bruin families themselves.
Volunteer Opportunities
PFA volunteers welcome students and families to campus, provide assistance with University initiatives and support the program’s efforts. Volunteer participation is unquestionably vital to the success of UCLA programs and events throughout the year. You don’t have to live in Los Angeles to make a difference; parent and family volunteers come from all over the world! Learn more about becoming a parent volunteer here and consider applying for the 2027-28 UCLA Parents’ Council when the application opens in Spring 2027.

Parent Testimonials
As a UCLA alum, seeing my son embrace all that UCLA has to offer has been a dream come true. With his senior year on the horizon, I wish I could stop time to hold onto his Bruin experience even longer. Attending Bruin Family Weekend the past three years has made me pause and step into his life as a Bruin, getting a glimpse of all that makes his time at UCLA so spectacular. When I am encouraging my friends to attend, I tell them that once their students graduate and get jobs, there likely won’t be a family weekend or even a family day at their offices. So, why not embrace these opportunities to be a part of their lives in such an authentic way? We get to drop into their world at UCLA and be a part of it!

When my son was accepted to UCLA, it felt legacy-changing for our whole family. He knew that he was committed to making the most of all the opportunities he would have here, but I don’t think we realized how all our worlds would expand with him having this opportunity. Shortly after he was accepted, I was introduced to Parents’ Council and discovered that I could have my own UCLA experience with fellow parents and be able to volunteer to serve UCLA, a community I was so grateful for. Bruin Family Weekend is always a highlight! I love the workshops and seminars from professors, and it’s so meaningful to connect with other families. The energy on campus is inspiring and makes us all so proud and grateful, knowing we are a part of the Bruin family and tradition that runs so deep.
