Every gift makes a difference, and when parents come together your collective contributions have a huge impact. Last year, current families contributed more than $3 million! By giving to UCLA, you can help bridge the gap between tuition and state support — which only covers a portion of the cost to fully educate a student. To make a gift online, click here. The UCLA Chancellor’s Society recognizes donors who are able to go above and beyond. These leadership donors support UCLA with an annual gift of $1,000+. Learn more by visiting: https://chancellorssociety.ucla.edu/parents/
Why Parents Give
“UCLA is a proudly public institution. And when we use the word ‘public,’ take a moment to think about what that really means – the public good, the public interest, public health – these are all enhanced by the public University. UCLA is a unique place where excellence and opportunity can co-exist equally for the betterment of us all. So, we need to invest in and strengthen our public universities today, and for generations to come.” – Sean Cumiskey ’90, Parent 2025
“Every gift, regardless of the size, makes a difference and we want to be a part of helping ensure that UCLA remains a leading university for our son and all future Bruins.” – Shawn Feuerstein, Parent 2020
“When we learned that there are so many students in need due to financial hardship, we decided to contribute financially. There is a Chinese proverb, ‘delivering charcoal to those in the snow,’ which means offering help to the most needy. It has always been a mantra in my family. We think our hearts are like a mirror, when you are generous and help others, you will get smiles and positive energy in return. It’s a win-win!” – Anonymous, Parent 2021
“Giving back is part of the culture here. Just as we’ve received from UCLA, we have the privilege and honor as Bruin parents to give back to the University that means so much to each of us.” – Dan and Helen Low, Parent 2017, 2019

Bruinlink is a digital parent and family newsletter that is published five times a year (including a special issue for new families). It is designed to inform parents of growing university trends, college student development and their role as a parent of a college student.
“Sharing in our son’s college experience is our favorite part of being Bruin parents. During our son’s second year at UCLA, we attended a few football games and loved the virtual tours of campus and his classes. Being part of the Bruin community is very special because we genuinely feel like parents and family members are cared for and honored by the university. The university knows that the success of its students partly relies upon the support students receive from their families. The most significant moment for us so far was attending the 2021 Bruin Family Weekend in person and seeing the pride our son has in being a Bruin. He gave us a tour of campus, and we could see how honored he felt to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the country. We are so proud of our son’s fantastic opportunities, such as working on research projects with his professors, his involvement with numerous clubs on campus, and his school pride for athletic events. We look forward to the continued success of our Bruin and for him to take advantage of the networks, career pathways, and world-class education that UCLA offers.”
